The following services are available to help support you and your baby in reaching your feeding goals. I offer prenatal classes and infant feeding support through in-home or virtual visits.

Infant Feeding

I will help address any questions or concerns you may have about feeding your baby. I will go over all aspects of infant feeding based on your individual goals to help set you and your baby up for success!  Common areas of support include:

  • Latching difficulties (breast/chest/bottle) or not yet latching
  • Nipple or breast pain (during or in-between feeds)
  • Breast/chest or bottle refusal
  • Engorgement, blocked ducts, mastitis, blebs, other infections
  • Low supply, over supply, increasing supply
  • Supplementation (at or away from the breast/chest)
  • Slow weight gain
  • Fussiness at the breast/chest/bottle
  • Oral-motor skills, suspected tethered oral tissues (tongue or lip ties), support through the release process if needed
  • Milk expression/pumping (flange size fitting, routine that works for you)
  • Induced lactation or re-lactation
  • Feeding after breast augmentation or reduction
  • Feeding infants born prematurely
  • Feeding infants with special needs
  • Multiples
  • Returning to work
  • Introducing solid foods
  • Difficulties progressing with solids
  • Weaning
  • Any other questions or topics you would like to discuss related to infant feeding

Home and Virtual Visits

Initial Visit:

In the comfort of your own home, hospital room or through secure video chat, I will help address any questions or concerns you have about feeding your baby. I will go over all aspects of infant feeding based on your individual goals. A detailed, personalized care plan will be sent to you within 24 hours. Appointment duration is 60-90 minutes depending on your needs.

Follow-Up Visits:

At your follow up-visit, we will go over any changes since your last visit, review your plan and prior teachings, and troubleshoot any new concerns to help you feel confident with your feeding plan and skills. Appointment duration is 45-60 minutes depending on your needs.

**These services include 1 week of text/email support as needed.**

Prenatal

When you’re about to have a baby, there are so many things to consider. Feeding your baby may seem straightforward; but every baby, family, and situation are different. You can help to set yourself up for success by learning about what to expect during those early days after your baby arrives. Topics covered include:

  • Benefits of skin to skin contact
  • Typical newborn behaviour and feeding cues
  • Optimizing latching and positioning
  • Learning how to tell if your baby is getting milk
  • How to tell if feeding is going well or not
  • When to reach out for support
  • Any other questions or topics you would like to discuss about infant feeding
